Alaska or Bust!

September - November, 2002

'I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.'
[What A Wonderful World - Louie Armstrong]

The destination for the second leg of our 2002 travels is someplace Pattie and I have both dreamed about going to for many years - Alaska! Before we left we only made a few reservations, 2 tours in search of bears and an apartment rental for a month, to serve as a home base in Anchorage. Everything else was going to be a free-wheeling adventure and so far its been better than we imagined.

Instead of sending out emails with pictures like we did while we were skiing in the spring, I made up a bunch of web pages containing pictures with comments and video clip links. Each page contains several pictures and using a 56K connection here in Anchorage, the pages take about a minute to load but this way I won't bog down your email retrieval and also avoid email bounces which seem to be more frequent with hotmail and yahoo accounts.

There is a link to the next topic at the bottom of each page. If you just want to check out a few pages, here's a list of everything so far...
