Juggling Suns - Ridgway, CO

This was our home town show and also served as the beginning of our 25th anniversary celebration. The Sherbino Theater is our cultural center for performing arts. Pattie became friends with Shannon the owner when she took her belly dancing classes there right after we moved to Ouray. Shannon took us under her wing and introduced us newbies to the locals and we've made lots of friends attending the variety of shows she brings to town. The first time I saw this theater I knew this would be the place where Juggling would play for us someday and Shannon was supportive right from the start without ever hearing a note of their music!

Shannon is known as the Fun Lady around town and she has lots of cool toys for kids of all ages. She broke out the hula hoops and streamer wands for this show and it kicked the crowd energy up a notch.

Ridgway is famous for being the location of the filming of John Wayne's classic movie, True Grit.

The Duke found out about this show and decided to come find out what all the pilgrims were excited about...

Shannon keeps a huge supply of costumes and stage props backstage, so the band decorated the stage!

In addition to being a special night for Pattie and I, this was a traumatic night for Shannon. Her mother was suffering in her final hours in this realm and Shannon was visibly upset when we first saw her. It was a real bummer to find that out right before the show, however, Shannon insisted that it wouldn't stop the show. She led our new musical family in the dance to ease her Mother's soul. We found out a few days later from Shannon that her Mother passed away that next morning, helped along the way by the joyful songs of the Juggling Suns... may she rest in peace!
