Watching the bears fish the Brooks river was fascinating. They demonstrate very human characteristics when they stand up in the river searching for their next catch and sometimes they look right at you as if they're wondering why you're watching them.

The morning we left, we had to wait for our plane on the viewing platform above the river and we were treated to one of the best moments when this sow and her cubs floated down the river to the bridge. At first it looked like one cub was going to slip under the bridge, but when Momma got out right in front of us, the kids quickly followed behind. They walked right underneath us, Momma leading the way while the cubs played.

In addition to these great pictures, I captured video clips of them getting out of the river and the cubs wrestling while Momma headed up the trail.
