Since we didn't see anything interesting wildlife on the bike trail (except for the planes landing at the airport), we decided to go back to Earthquake park and hike one late afternoon. As we were walking along we found these fresh moose nuggets, raising our hopes for a close encounter!
Sure enough, we rounded a corner and came upon 4 moose grazing in an open field. There was this cow and her two calfs on one side along with another cow on the other side of the field.
The Mom took off with the kids after a few minutes but I was able to spend several minutes taking pictures of this girl while she kept a watchful eye on me.
